As Mono Earth, a collective working with earth, material-based practices, and nature-sensitive production approaches, we were delighted to host Factory of Us in Cappadocia—sharing similar concerns and modes of making.
Held at Yunak Evleri as part of Factory of Us’s second-year launch, this gathering was more than a product introduction; it created a platform for exchanging alternative perspectives on production, material, and sustainability. Moderated by Mono Earth co-founder Çağlar İşbilir, the talk offered insights from Betül Karaca into the brand’s production processes, its relationship with material, and how these processes evolve into tangible outcomes.
Factory of Us proposes a circular and regenerative system by incorporating materials such as coffee and agricultural waste into its production cycle. Within this approach, products are not treated as finite objects, but as components of an ongoing, transformable system—capable of being broken down and remade.
For Mono Earth, which has been producing in Cappadocia for a long time, hosting and moderating this launch was especially meaningful. Bringing together different material practices, the event opened up a shared ground for thinking about the future of production.
