Mono Earth Rammed Earth Workshop

The workshop is open to everyone interested in the subject, particularly professionals and students working in creative fields.

Back by popular demand, Mono Earth is bringing earth enthusiasts together once again before the season comes to an end!

We are coming together once again this year to share our years of research, design, and hands-on production experience, and to collectively explore the potential of earth as a building material.

We invite creative professionals, students, and everyone passionate about earth to join us for an inspiring weekend of making, experimenting, and exchanging ideas. Together, we will explore the limits and possibilities of earth, think aloud, and most importantly, bring our ideas to life with our own hands at a 1:1 scale, while enjoying the process.

Throughout the workshop, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of rammed earth construction techniques, hands-on building practices, and material-driven design principles.

Enriched by the collective contributions of its participants, the workshop will focus on constructing a full-scale rammed earth unit in the garden of Derun House. As we shape the local earth with our hands, we will also take time to enjoy the extraordinary landscapes and valleys of Cappadocia.

Led by Can CUMALI and Çağlar İŞBİLİR, the workshop will take place from 4–7 September 2026 in Avanos, Nevşehir, Türkiye.

Workshop Dates : 4–7 September 2026 TR Atölye daveti; yaratıcı alanda faaliyet gösteren profesyoneller ve öğrenciler başta olmak üzere konu ile ilgili herkese açıktır.  Yoğun istek üzerine Mono Earth sezonu bitirmeden yeniden toprak severler ile buluşuyor.

Yıllardır sürdürdüğümüz araştırma, tasarım ve üretim pratiğini paylaşmak; toprağın potansiyelini birlikte keşfetmek için bu yıl da yaratıcı alanda faaliyet gösteren profesyoneller ve bu alanda eğitim gören öğrenciler başta olmak üzere toprak ile ilgilenen herkes ile bir araya geliyoruz. Birlikte üreteceğimiz, toprağın limitleri ve potansiyeli üzerine sesli düşüneceğimiz ve en önemlisi süreci eğlenerek 1:1 ölçekte ellerimizle hayata geçireceğimiz şahane bir hafta sonuna davetlisiniz.

Sıkıştırılmış toprak yapım tekniklerinin bütün detaylarının anlatılacağı atölyede toprak yapım pratikleri ve malzeme etkin tasarım detayları hakkında bilgiler verilecektir. Katılımcılar ile zenginleşecek atölyede Derun House bahçesinde sıkıştırılmış toprak yapım tekniği ile 1/1 ölçekte bir ünitenin yapılması planlanmaktadır. Bir yandan ellerimizle bölge toprağına şekil verirken bir yandan da Kapadokya vadilerinin tadını çıkaracağız.

Can CUMALI ve Çağlar İŞBİLİR yürütücülüğünde gerçekleşecek olan atölyede 4 - 7 Eylül 2026 tarihleri arasında Avanos / Nevşehir 'de gerçekleşecektir.
