Sustainable Transformation: Eco Design and the Future of Design
As part of FDI & MOSFED’s “Sustainable Transformation: Eco Design and the Future of Design” panel, Çağlar İşbilir, co-founder of Mono Earth, joined a multidisciplinary conversation exploring how sustainability is reshaping contemporary approaches to design and production.
Together with Omar Degoli, Gianluca Manago, Betül Karaca, and moderator Yağız Genç, the panel addressed circular design, material responsibility, sustainable production processes, and the evolving relationship between design and environmental impact.

Representing Mono Earth, co-founder Çağlar İşbilir responded to questions on the studio’s work with rammed earth across the intersections of art, design, and architecture—from objects and spatial interventions to environments and experiential installations. Together with the other panelists, he also shared perspectives on the ecological footprint of the furniture industry, discussing material choices, production processes, and the potential of more sustainable approaches to design.
The conversation brought together different scales of practice—from materials and objects to architecture and industry—to consider how design can move beyond reducing environmental impact and actively contribute to more regenerative ways of producing and living.
